Swinton: Mercedes Sprinter Voted Favourite Van by Swinton Insurance Customers

The Mercedes Sprinter has knocked the Ford Transit van off the top spot of favourite makes of vans according to Swinton Commercial customers.



The UK van insurance retailer's annual poll of favourite makes of van found that 31% now preferred the Mercedes Sprinter to the Ford Transit, while the Ford Courier came in third.



Although Ford lost its top spot position it is the only manufacturer of van to hold two of the five positions in the poll.



The top five favourite make of vans according to Swinton Commercial customers are:



Mercedes Sprinter (31%)



Ford Transit (26%)



Ford Courier (21%)



Vauxhall Transporter (16%)



Renault Traffic Panel (6%)



The annual survey also revealed that (19%) of van drivers would consider purchasing an electric van as their next work vehicle if the price was competitive.



Phil Moss, Commercial Vehicle Manager at Swinton said, "Although the Ford has been knocked off the top spot, the Mercedes Sprinter is a great successor. It has a huge load capacity and is one of the fastest vans on the road. The Mercedes brand also implies respect, style and class."
